About the role
With us growing at an exponential rate, we are looking for and have an immediate vacancy for a Quality Control Engineer. You will be responsible for creating our QC protocols and ensuring our suite of technical documentation and knowledge bases grows within our business. We are looking for someone who assists with evolving our product range and new product development with engineering excellence, continuous design improvement and innovation, consolidating our high quality standard and creating a super cool product and the best experience for our customers.

What are you going to do? You will be…

  • Responsible for Fliteboard's overall QC vision, strategy and implementations building a strong quality control and testing culture across delivery.
  • Implementing a quality framework to ensure both functional and non-functional requirements are part of delivery framework.
  • Build a high performing quality/testing practice team with high levels of engagement and engineering practices.
  • Work with relevant functions to deliver speed and efficiency to the overall delivery process
  • Manage senior stakeholders with competing priorities


Other responsibilities:

Quality Control
NPD production implementation / QC planning
Production documentation / QC records / traceability income inspection
supplier liaison
developing processes, jigs, production aids
supplier audits

Product
analysing product issues / testing / problem solving / issuing test reports
product improvement development / prototyping / solution testing
implementing product / engineering change process incl. documentation
supplier liaison for product change / improvement implementation

Testing
product test planning, developing product test plan for NPD
design verification & validation testing (NPD) > reports
developing and establishing Flite test protocols & standards
designing & fabricating test rigs or jigs / data acquisition
managing field tests and evaluating data / results
developing QC tests / processes for production
Ensuring products are tested to an industry leading best practise making sure (when required) knowledge base/decision tree/canned response information is accurate.
Ensuring you and your team diagnose, repair and service returned goods including maintenance of our internal demo fleet if needed/required.

What we’d like you to have:
You have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role
You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are solution oriented
University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering or equivalent
Strong 3D CAD skills, ideally Solidworks
Some FMEA, FEA or CFD experience is highly desirable
Good understanding of BOMs, DFM and quality management
Knowledge around manufacturing processes such as CNC, injection moulding and surface finishes
Experience in composites design/production or mechatronics is highly regarded
Ability to perform multi-tasks and determine priorities
